While the hotel boasts a 5-star rating, in my opinion, it’s more of a 4-star property. The bold white-on-white design throughout the hotel may not appeal to everyone, and the use of intense red lights in the main lobby and the mood lighting in the rooms give it a somewhat kitschy feel, rather than an elegant vibe.
The rooms very spacious. I enjoyed the panoramic views, when I visited there was a concert nearby, so it was loud and full of bright lights until late at night.
One of the standout features of the hotel is its extensive amenities, including a well-maintained pool area with a pool bar and plenty of lounge chairs. The spa is also available, although I opted to explore the local offerings instead.
The hotel’s location is a pro and con, depending on your preferences. It’s situated near the Acuarium, concert venues and many family-friendly attractions, but the proximity to the Aqualand and potential concerts can also bring some noise. This makes it a great choice for groups, active families, and those who enjoy a lively and celebratory atmosphere, but may not be ideal for those seeking a quiet retreat.
The rooms are completely white, which, while visually striking, can be challenging to keep spotless. The mood lighting helps, but the intense colors may not be everyone’s cup of tea.
As for the food, the hotel offers an impressive selection of local cuisine, which I thoroughly enjoyed. However, if you’re looking for a fine dining experience, this may not be the place for you.
The staff was adequate, doing their jobs but not particularly proactive. Overall, I’d describe the Hotel SU & Aqualand as a solid 4-star property that caters well to those seeking a vibrant, family-friendly atmosphere, with easy access to local attractions and activities.
As a travel planner I’d choose this property to have a Turkish experience if the price is right. Just be prepared for the bold design and the potential for some noise. Happy travels!
